Joanna Gosse was born in Kingston, Jamaica and grew up in St. John’s, Newfoundland (her friend, Courtney, calls her a Janewfin) where she first honed her talents as a singer, dancer, actress, writer. She continued her career in Toronto and Montreal and now has an impressive list of credits to her name, including many songs, poems, screenplays and scripts, and frequent performances on stage, radio and television (copy of resume).
Her, one-woman play, Dear Dollface, was written, directed and performed by her from 1997 – 1999 at the Resource Centre for the Arts, Vancouver Fringe Festival and St. John’s Fringe Festival. She wrote, directed and produced her first short film A Cup of Tea which was screened at the 11th St. John’s Film and Video Festival in October 2000. Her first novel LIAR was published by Breakwater Books in 2000.
Joanna now resides in Montreal and is presently writing her second novel, Winning! She also has two new plays, Mabel’s Bed and Nothing To Lose, and a musical, Homo Erectus,in development.
